You have been knocking it out of the park for your entire career, moving up through the ranks of assistant teacher, lead teacher, and now center director. Your center operates with the joyful precision of a Vivaldi concerto. You desire a challenge and you want to keep growing professionally. This is admirable, but … what comes next?
One key is to always be on the lookout for learning and growth opportunities. If advancement within your organization is not possible, investigate opportunities to represent your center within local or regional organizations. Be a voice for early childhood at board of education or city planning meetings. Offer to help organize the annual conference for your state early childhood association.
