- Situation -I wanted to pull up my quilt and not get out of bed. The sink was full of last night's dishes. Anyone passing near my daughter's high chair would need to unglue his feet from the floor. I had a report to finish at work that was already two days behind schedule. Not exactly what might be regarded as a promising prospect for the day ahead. I heard my daughter padding about and pulled aside my covers with a groan.
Then I walked into my little girl's room. There she sat in the middle of the floor, adding the finishing touches to the lipstick she had applied all over her face. I just started to laugh and cry at the same time. I gathered her into my arms and gave her a big hug, smearing us both with a layer of Cherry Delight lipstick. She smiled and kissed me back, dispensing a generous portion of red goo onto my robe. It was a moment I wouldn't exchange for an army of personal housekeepers, tidy kitchen, or a week long stay at a spa. (Well, maybe the spa might tempt me!)
