About the Author |
Dr. Rebecca McMahon Giles is a Professor in the Department of Leadership and Teacher Education at the University of South Alabama in Mobile, AL where she teaches courses in the undergraduate Early Childhood Studies program as well as the graduate Elementary and Early Childhood Education programs. She received her M.Ed. from the University of Texas at Austin and her Ph.D. from the University of Southern Mississippi. She has taught prekindergarten, kindergarten, and first grade in both public and private school settings and has over 25 years of experience in higher education. Dr. Giles has spoken and published widely on a variety of early childhood topics and is co-author of Write Now! Publishing with Young Authors, PreK through Grade 2 (Heinemann, 2007). She lives in Ocean Springs, MS with her husband Bryan and teenage sons, Jay and Kade. |
