New Resource on Anti-Bias
December 26, 2003

"A fair request should be followed by the deed in silence." - Dante Alighieri

NEW RESOURCE ON ANTI-BIAS

Tamar Jacobson has contributed a valuable resource for diversity explorations in her new book Confronting Our Discomfort: Clearing the Way for Anti-Bias in Early Childhood (Portsmouth, NH: Heinemann, 2003).  Jacobson explores how a teacher's own attitudes may impact her efforts at anti-bias education.  In Confronting, she provides a framework for early childhood educators to confront their own biases head on.   In a book that is both deeply personal and highly motivational, Jacobson offers a wealth of ideas for moving ahead with the anti-bias agenda.

Confronting can be ordered from Heinemann at: www.heinemann.com/shared/products/E00569.asp
