Training Outcomes:

  1. Teachers will describe Piaget’s sensorimotor and preoperational stages of cognitive development.
  2. Teachers will list ways to focus on play, exploration, and constructive approaches to learning math.
  3. Teachers will list ways to help children build a large body of general knowledge that supports emerging math skills.
  4. Teachers will list ways to address gender stereotypes and sexism in the classroom related to children’s math abilities.
